PVU-Finder® Solar Power Generation Remote Monitoring Systems

Solar power generation remote monitoring systems

Detect issues with solar power generation equipment at an early stage!

PVU-Finder is an integrated monitoring system equipped with string monitoring for high-voltage power plants and extra high-voltage power plants.

We offer flexible systems to meet customer demands according to solar power plants.
In addition, the system supports output control based on demand of power companies.

Main features

  1. Flexible customization to meet your needs

We provide Monitoring and Control Systems cutomized to your equipment for low-voltage, high-voltage, and extra high-voltage power plants.
We offer support for centralized, distributed and multi-string power conditioning systems (PCS).

  2. String monitoring for reduced maintenance costs

Panel output degradation and failures are monitored string by string, abnormalities are checked on the monitor screen, and alert notifications are sent via email.
This system can also contribute to the detection of wiring errors during installation and initial panel defects, as well as enhance the efficiency of maintenance with the use of MATAS.

  3. Streamlined system configuration and redundant data logger for stable monitoring

The use of new I/O enables measurement according to the customer’s application with a compact device configuration.
The monitoring and control systems are built with redundancy for stable monitoring.

  4. Use of terminal block with a built-in surge protection circuit without external SPD nor a noise suppression circuit

The string measurement unit and SI (RS485) terminal block unit inside the Monitoring and Control Systems are equipped with a surge protection circuit and external noise suppression circuit for lightning resistance equivalent to JIS C 5381-21 category C2.

PVU-Finder® Output Control

Output control

Support for output control based on the demands of power companies!

This system supports PCS output control of solar power plants using old, new, and specified rules.
It can be implemented in solar power plants being newly constructed or existing power plants that are already operating.

Main features

  1. Support for output control based on the demands of power companies

This system has been implemented at power companies in Kyushu, Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Chugoku, Shikoku and Chubu regions, and there are plans to support power companies in Tokyo and Kansai regions as well.

  2. Support for low-voltage, high-voltage, and extra high-voltage solar power plants

We have a track record of implementing this system in solar power plants of all sizes, and CDT communication control, which is essential for real-time control of extra high-voltage power plants, is supported for major manufacturers including Ohkura Electric, Tsuken Electric Ind, and Oi Electric.

  3. Support for a wide range of PCS manufacturers

We support companies including ABB, SMA, Delta Electronics, Yaskawa Electric, TMEIC, Hitachi, Nissin Electric, Sanyo Denki, Huawei, and Sungrow.

  4. Support for output control of solar power plants using specified, new, and old rules (shift to online operations)

With the output control functions, it is possible to control the optimal output values for all solar power plants, remotely control on/off operations, and shift to online operations for solar power plants under old rules, thereby reducing power generation opportunity loss.
Real-time output control can also be supported with CDT communication for extra high-voltage solar power plants.

Diagnose signs of performance degradation of solar power generation equipment

This system assists in effective maintenance by diagnosing signs of performance degradation of solar power generation equipment using data acquired at solar power plants and a proprietary calculation algorithm.

Main features

  1. Added a deviation rate evaluation function to MATAS® analysis to improve judgment accuracy

This helps separate the effects of ambient shadows and dirt on panels from causes of equipment-specific aging defects.
It also helps to visualize any variations in string power generation current. (Box plot chart)

  2. Added analysis result display functions using lists and graphs

Visualization using lists and graphs allows for more efficient and pinpointed maintenance.

  3. Added functions for comparing solar radiation and generated power

A function for evaluating the power generation capacity with respect to solar radiation was added to see the improvement effect objectively.
A function for evaluating the current contribution ratio was added to evaluate daily string capability.
