History

1940s

September 1941: Founder Iwao Ono Acquires Osaka Spindle Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
March 1943: Company name changes to Osaka Aircraft Electric Works Co., Ltd.
June 1948: Company name changes to Onamba Dental Crown Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and manufacture of medical materials begins.

1950s

January 1952: Company name changes to Onamba Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd., and manufacture changes to PVC wires, PVC sheathing products, and PVC tubes.
April 1953: Manufacture of PVC cables begins, and research of “Airn” is started.
April 1954: Cord manufacturing license under the Electrical Appliance and Material Control Regulations is obtained.
Sales of “Airn” begin together with its special confirmation.

1960s

November 1960: Factory is permitted to display Japanese Industrial Standards for PVC cable.
July 1961: Manufacturing license for insulated wire under the Electrical Appliance and Material Control Regulations is obtained.
October 1962: Business for manufacturing synthetic resin insulated wire under the Electrical Appliance and Material Control Law is registered.
October 1963: Business for manufacturing wiring equipment under the Electrical Appliance and Material Control Law is registered.
August 1967: Factory is permitted to display Japanese Industrial Standards for 600 V PVC wire.
May 1969: Canada Standards Association (CSA) certification is received.
May 1969: UL certification is received.

1970s

January 1970: Factory is permitted to display Japanese Industrial Standards for PVC coated cables.
October 1971: Manufacture of communication cables begins.
October 1978: Singapore Onamba Private Ltd. is established in Singapore.
April 1979: Factory is permitted to display Japanese Industrial Standards for plug connecting devices.

1980s

March 1980: Factory is permitted to display Japanese Industrial Standards for coaxial cables for TV reception.
March 1981: Company name changes to Onamba Co., Ltd.
August 1986: Listed on the Second Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange, and capital is increased to 1,029.19 million yen.
October 1986: O&S California, Inc. is established.
November 1986: Arneses y Conexiones, S.A. de C.V. is established in Mexico.
November 1987: Onamba (M) Sdn. Bhd. is established in Malaysia.
August 1988: Swiss franc convertible bonds due in 1993 are issued.
March 1989: Capital increases to 1,779.26 million yen after conversion of Swiss franc convertible bonds.

1990s

September 1994: Onamba Electronic Parts (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. is established in China.

April 2001: Third-party allotment investment in Asle Electronics Co., Ltd.
May 2001: Czech Republic Onamba s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic.
March 2003: Head office and all sales offices receive ISO 9001 certification.
March 2004: Tohoku Onamba and Mie Onamba receive ISO 9001 certification.
March 2006: O&M Solar s.r.o. is established in the Czech Republic.
December 2006: Listed on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
